The Russian Government has adopted a decree according to which a federal taxi information service will start operating in the country from September 1. The Cabinet is confident that this will make taxi rides safer.
"The federal government information system for taxi services will start working in Russia on 1 September," the press office of the Russian Government. - The relevant regulation has been approved by a government decree".
Three regional registers will now function in each region: carriers, vehicles and ordering services. The information from them will be transferred within 24 hours into the federal system. The Government believes that this will ensure more effective state control in the sphere of passenger transport services, ensure its transparency and legality.
Earlier the launch of the system was announced by Vitaliy Saveliev, head of the Russian Ministry of Transport. The Minister said that it would be implemented on the unified digital platform "GovTech".
