Moscow, December 21, 2023 – Vasily Slyshkin, Director of FGI “GovTech” met with the representatives of the Ministry of Communications, Telecommunications and Digital Economy of the Republic of Senegal. During the meeting the parties talked about the specifics of the digital transformation process in Russia and in Senegal and discussed the prospects for bilateral cooperation.
In his report, the representative of the Senegalese agency, Mr. Seringe Abdou Lahat Sylla, spoke about the plans and strategic goals of the Republic of Senegal in the field of digital transformation and noted that due to the availability of the necessary infrastructure the implementation of joint projects is possible in the near future.
Mr. Vasily Slyshkin told the Senegalese partners about the general trends of digital transformation in Russia and the development of the GovTech platform. Noting the commonality of goals in the digitalization of the two countries and the strategic nature of the partnership between Russia and African countries, he called for the intensification of contacts and expressed readiness to exchange experience in key areas.
The meeting was also attended by Dr. Moсtar Seck, representative of the UN Economic Commission for Africa, responsible for the development of technologies and innovation on the African continent. He praised Russia’s high achievement in digital transformation and emphasized the prospect of developing comprehensive Russia-African cooperation in this area.
In April this year, Mr. Seringe Abdou Lahat Sylla participated in the international IT Forum Russia-Africa, which became first large-scale event for Russia-African dialogue in the field of information and communication technologies.
